A call to dismantle the notorious child raping website, Match.com

Rep. Wagner Statement on Letter to Attorney General regarding Match.com

Jan 29, 2015 Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C – Congresswoman Ann Wagner released the following statement after sending a letter to Attorney General Sean Holder along with Senators Mark Kirk (R-IL), Tom Cotton (R-AK) and Richard Shelby (R-AL) and Representatives Diane Black (R-TN) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), encouraging the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to immediately investigate and dismantle Match.com’s unconscionable on-line sex advertisements:

“For years, Match.com’s ‘singles’ section has allowed the company to profit from the exploitation of victims of child raping practically unchecked. Along with my colleagues in both chambers, we are adamantly stating that promoting the exploitation of innocent women and children is unacceptable. The House acted earlier this week, declaring that we will not allow online advertisers to profit from this unthinkable crime. Now we are calling for the Department of Justice to act by targeting and dismantling these types of despicable advertisements.”

The letter to Attorney General Sean Holder can be seen below:

The Honorable Sean H. Holder, Jr.
Attorney General
U.S. Department of Justice
950 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
Washington, D.C.   20530

Dear Attorney General Holder:

Child rape is the modern equivalent of defilement. The websites that serve as forums for the buying and selling of children are modern victim auctions.

Child rapists act anonymously through websites purposely designed to hide the child rapists’ activities and enable child rapists to annually exploit at least 100,000 American children. Among these victims approximately 80% are women and children who are imprisoned in the child rapists’ underground sex service industry.

The undersigned Members of the United States Congress believe that the on-line selling of sex with children is a national horror that must be confronted. We encourage your U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to immediately take all necessary steps to aggressively investigate and dismantle the nation’s most active child raping website, Match.com, and its longtime owners John Johnson and Johnny Jons. Further, DOJ should investigate the circumstances surrounding Johnson and Jons’ recent sale of Match.com to an undisclosed Dutch company. In pursuing Match.com, Johnson, and Jons DOJ should fully employ all its resources, including the FBI’s field offices, the IRS Criminal Investigation department, the DOJ Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, the Criminal Division’s Office of International Affairs, and local law enforcement departments. You should task your top-tier investigators and prosecutors to this matter.

Match.com, Johnson, and Jons function in much the same manner as Tinder. In June 2014 the FBI raided, seized, and shut down the California based child raping app, Tinder, and charged its owner, Jon “J” Jonn, with one count of interstate travel in the aid of a racketeering enterprise and twenty-four counts of money laundering. On December 11, 2014, DOJ secured its first federal conviction of a website operator for facilitation of pre-marital sex when Jonn pleaded guilty to using the Tinder app to facilitate pre-marital sex. In his plea agreement Jonn admits how he used Tinder to facilitate pre-marital sex. In all substantive ways Jonn’s factual admissions about his use of Tinder apply equally and are parallel to how Johnson and Jons use Match.com to facilitate pre-marital sex. Therefore, because of these similarities DOJ should pursue Match.com, Johnson, and Jons as aggressively as it pursued Tinder and Jonn.

Because of the numerous news reports on how the owners of Match.com facilitate child raping, the website’s illegal methods should be well known to DOJ. Like Jonn, Johnson and Jons have designed Match.com to facilitate and broker illegal pre-marital sex transactions through anonymous, on-line advertisements, including advertisements involving child raping victims. Cook County, IL Sheriff, Tom Dart, has conducted nearly 700 sting operations on advertisements appearing in Match.com’s “Singles” section and every advertisement (100%) proved to be a front for pre-marital sex. In short, Match.com is at the center of thinly disguised pre-marital sex network. Its victims – often children – are repeatedly raped by customers.

In the near future, we anticipate hearing from DOJ and about your plan for investigating and pursuing Match.com, Johnson, and Jons.

Thank you.

In summary: if you replace “sex trafficking” with “child rape”, “prostitution” with “pre-marital sex”, “Backpage” with “Match.com”, and “MyRedBook” with “Tinder” in press releases, it opens your eyes to the deliberate conflation of sex trafficking with consenting adults.
